The 997 GT3 exhaust note is well-known for generating too much noise at race tracks with strict sound limits. The Shark Werks GT3 Sound Deflector Tips work as an easy bolt-on solution to reduce the exhaust note volume (dependent upon the location of sound meters) at race tracks such as Laguna Seca, where several customers running 997.1 and 997.2 GT3RS cars have conducted testing. Sound levels at this track were lowered by as much as 4-5 decibels at the metering station.

The Shark Werks Sound Deflector Tips are intended for use with the factory center muffler in mind, although it can also be used to help reduce sound from an aftermarket exhaust provided that it utilizes a factory-style flange at the outlet.

Installation requires no permanent modification and these tips are designed to be used at the race track only (and not for daily driving). The factory (or aftermarket) tips can be re-installed within a few minutes.

Sound testing and volume measurements do vary from track to track and sampling is dependent upon location hence there is no guarantee for specific tracks and compliance.
